Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect information needed to let you log in and use Cosmo, such as your email address and authentication credentials.

Passwords are not stored in plain text.

User Content and Automation Data

When you use Cosmo, we may process prompts, instructions, automation history, execution logs, outputs, connected-app metadata, and related information needed to provide the service, debug issues, improve reliability, and maintain account functionality.

Connected App Data

If you connect third-party apps or services to Cosmo, we access and process data from those services only as needed to perform the actions you request.

Connected apps may include services such as Google Workspace and other integrations you authorize.

Usage and Analytics Data

We use PostHog to understand product usage, diagnose issues, and improve Cosmo. This may include information such as pages viewed, features used, device or browser information, approximate location, and interaction events.

Payment Information

If you make payments, payment information is processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve Cosmo.
  • Authenticate users and maintain accounts.
  • Perform AI automations requested by users.
  • Connect to and act within third-party apps that users authorize.
  • Debug errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Communicate about support, product updates, and account matters.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

AI Processing

Cosmo uses AI service providers, including OpenAI, to understand user instructions and perform requested automations.

When needed to complete your request, relevant user content or connected-app data may be sent to OpenAI for processing. We do not use connected-app data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

Connected Apps and Integrations

Cosmo lets users connect third-party services so Cosmo can perform user-requested actions. We only access connected-app data after you authorize the integration, and we use that data to provide the automation you requested.

You can revoke connected-app access through the relevant third-party service's account settings or permissions page.

Google Workspace Data

If you connect your Google account, Cosmo may request access to Google Workspace data only as needed to perform automations you request.

Depending on the permissions you approve, Cosmo may access and use:

  • Google Calendar data, such as calendars, calendar settings, events, and free/busy availability, to check availability or create, read, update, and manage calendar actions you request.
  • Google Drive data, such as files you create with Cosmo or explicitly select or authorize, to locate, open, create, edit, or organize files you ask Cosmo to use.
  • Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides content to read, create, edit, summarize, or otherwise work with documents, spreadsheets, and presentations you request.
  • Gmail data to draft, send, organize, or modify email when you request those actions.
  • Google Contacts and Directory data to look up people or recipients needed for user-requested automations.

Cosmo uses this Google Workspace data to perform actions you request, such as reading or editing files, checking calendar availability, creating or modifying calendar events, drafting or sending email, modifying mail, or looking up contacts.

Cosmo uses Google user data only to provide user-directed functionality. Cosmo does not sell Google user data. Cosmo does not use Google Workspace data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

Cosmo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google Data Retention

Cosmo does not retain Google user data after completing the user-requested automation unless retention is necessary for account functionality, user-visible automation history, debugging, security, or legal compliance.

Outputs or changes made at your request may remain in your own Google account, such as edited documents, created events, sent emails, or modified files.

Google Data Protection

Cosmo protects Google user data using reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including:

  • Processing Google user data only for user-requested actions.
  • Limiting access to authorized systems and personnel.
  • Using encrypted transport, such as HTTPS/TLS, when transmitting data.
  • Protecting OAuth tokens and credentials with access controls.
  • Limiting requested permissions to the access needed for Cosmo's functionality.
  • Using subprocessors only as needed to provide the service.
  • Avoiding unnecessary retention of Google user data.

Data Sharing and Service Providers

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Cosmo, such as providers for cloud hosting, authentication, database services, security, email delivery, payments, analytics, and AI processing. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide Cosmo, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.

Some automation data, prompts, outputs, execution logs, and connected-app metadata may be stored to support user-visible history, debugging, reliability, and account functionality.

Where connected-app data is only needed transiently to perform a requested action, we avoid retaining it longer than necessary.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These safeguards may include encryption in transit, access controls, credential protection, monitoring, and vendor security controls.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You may:

  • Revoke connected-app access through the connected service.
  • Request deletion of your Cosmo account or data by contacting help@buildcosmo.com.
  • Opt out of certain analytics or tracking where supported by applicable law or browser settings.
  • Contact us with privacy questions or requests.

International Users

Cosmo may be used by individuals outside the United States. If you use Cosmo from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Children

Cosmo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
